Digital Home Tech Blogger
eHomeUpgrade is looking for a couple of new bloggers to join the team. The site covers “Digital Home” product releases, developments, and industry buzz.
Regularly covered topics include: Windows Media Center, MythTV, LinuxMCE, SageTV, Beyond TV, Boxee, XBMC, Apple Front Row, Apple TV, Windows Home Server, NAS, Home Networking, Home Automation, Windows Media Extenders, UPnP/DLNA Compatible Digital Media Adapters, TV Tuners, Online Content Providers.
Note: It’s not necessary to be a “Pro” in all areas — or even own all of these products. However, having knowledge and some experience with these technologies in order to write with credibility is a MUST. To help bloggers start off on the right foot, the Editor will provide news leads each morning for people to cover.
Non-negotiable monthly requirements:
5 x “Featured” op-ed, review, guide, interview articles (800+ words) in addition to the daily news recap blog entries.
Bloggers must be able to:
* Write in professional and friendly manner
* Work with the site’s Editor sometime between 9am-3pm (Pacific)
* Post 2+ blog entries (150+ words) a day M-F
* Follow editorial guidelines to the letter
* Use an image editor to crop and optimize images for the web
* Communicate well and be reliable
Pay:
Bloggers are paid monthly and receive compensation based on the total number of new permalink page views (rate: $2 CPM) accumulated each month on their entire post archive. Just to give you an idea… a beefy, one paragraph news recap post gathers about 1,500 page views in its first month at the site’s current traffic level (featured / original content posts do even better). It’s also worth pointing out, in regards to this system, the larger your archive of quality posts… the more money you’ll end up making each month.
How to apply:
* Provide us two sample blog entries on a new product release or development that you would submit, if you were writing for the site today.
* Provide links to any past blog posts you’ve written that will showcase your work.
* Tell us about your strengths and weaknesses related to our site’s content niche.
* Tell us about yourself, where you live, the time of day (Pacific) you would most likely be able to post, and some of your favorite tech news websites you read regularly.
