Bring Home Entertainment to Every Room with Philips Wireless Music Centers

Consumers are increasingly blending the convenience of digital music with whole home audio streaming. Philips’ new Streamium Wireless Music Systems meet that demand, offering a revolutionary new way of enjoying audio entertainment. Showcased today at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the WAS5000 and WACS3500 enable consumers to benefit from a multi-room solution that allows them to control and access thousands of songs on up to five wireless music stations, anywhere throughout their home.

Music lovers now have the ability to play different songs in up to six different rooms, or if they wish they can also broadcast the same song to play simultaneously on each device, fully personalizing their home music experience.”
Philips’ Streamium Wireless Music Systems provide listeners a simple and sophisticated way to enjoy their entertainment – all without wires, or even the need for an Internet connection. Unlimited listening pleasure – wirelessly The WACS3500 is a three-piece configuration with 80GB1 hard disk to store and playback up to 1,500 CDs. Add up to four additional stations to take full advantage of the systems advanced features, such as Music Follows Me to stop a song and pick it up in the next room without skipping a beat; Music Broadcast so all can enjoy the same song; or My Room, My Music to enjoy personalized playlists on different stations.
The WACS3500 can also wirelessly stream Internet radio stations and provides optional GoGear™ MP3 and iPod™ docking. The WAS5000, which connects with your existing audio system to facilitate streaming, boasts PlaysForSure™ compatibility with easy navigation to search music by artist, album or playlist and it can wirelessly connect to a PC to stream or download songs via a UpnP PC connection. The WAS5000 also allows up to four additional stations to take full advantage of the Music Follows Me; Music Broadcast and My Room, My Music options.
The WACS3500 will be available in the first half of 2007 for an MSRP of $399. The WAS5000 will also be available in the first half at a suggested retail price of $499.
Consumers will enjoy greater functionality as well, with Philips expanding its agreement with Gracenote®, the leading digital music recognition company, to include evermore intuitive and effective song and artist recognition as well as innovative means of managing and enjoying music.
