Fox to Release High-Def Movie DVDs 60 Days after Theater Release
In what is hopefully an upcoming trend in the industry at large, Fox is preparing plans to release movies in high-definition only 60 days after theatrical release (via HDBlog.net). News Corp. president-COO Peter Chernin said in a invitation only key-note at CES that the delivery platform has not yet been determined. At this point, one could assume that video-on-demand wil be the delivery method of choice. Additionally, the traditional window between video-on-demand and home video will be eliminated as well. Fox has been seen as resistant to these types of changes in recent memory, so this shift is a welcome departure from the norm.
