Verdict: Best Overall Download Speed Winner – Sprint, Best Overall Upload Speed Winner – AT&T (Sprint came in second).

Sprint XOHM WiMAX Has Got it Going On with Its “Pick 2″ Program


Wow! It appears that Sprint XOHM service is setting itself up to be a true competitor to traditional cable, DSL, and cellular data service providers. According to the company’s marketing material, subscribers can opt for the “Pick 2” program for only $50/mo (limited time offer) and get WiMAX service for two device types (i.e. home modem, laptop data card, or a WiMAX enabled mobile device). Now that’s hot (as Paris would say). Dave Zatz thinks this is a great deal too and points out that a single 3G data card service alone runs about $60/mo. MORE »

T-Mobile @Home HiportI was just browsing T-Mobile’s website and noticed that the company is now offering unlimited (day/night/weekend) nationwide home phone service for just $10 bucks a month. That’s huge! The $9.99 plan requires the purchase of a T-Mobile @Home HiPort Wireless Router that you can connect up to two standard phones and/or a T-Mobile HotSpot enabled phone. Granted, you have to have a working high-speed Internet connection for the service to work. But, hey… what a deal.

Service includes: call hold, call waiting, caller ID, voicemail with message alert, and discounted long distance calls to Canada and Mexico. Optional CallerTunes, for customized ring tones that your caller hears, is also available.
