Miro, the open-source Internet TV Player, has morphed into a new, more far reaching application that everyone should have a good look at. Miro 4.0, beside the ability to subscribe to your favorite video podcasts and BitTorrent distributed videos, now offers music and video management (includes an inbuilt H.264/MP4 transcoder and “watch folder” functionality), smartphone and tablet sync over USB, Amazon MP3 music and Amazon Appstore for Android access, and network media sharing/streaming of both music and video content. For a closer look visit getmiro.com for demo videos and getmiro.com/using-miro/ for screenshots of the latest functionality. FYI, the Miro team is planning on launching an iPad app next — will require Miro running on your PC.
