ARNOVA Is ARCHOS’ Budget Brand

Thanks to Charbax at ARMdevices.net we finally know why ARCHOS decided to introduce the ARNOVA brand — our first ARNOVA sighting was the ARNOVA Web Radio & TV. It turns out ARNOVA is ARCHOS’ budget line of devices with slightly lesser specs than ARCHOS’ already competitively priced product line, which consists primarily of Android-based tablets. Below is two new ARNOVA tablets — ARNOVA 8 (4:3, ~$149), ARNOVA 10 (widescreen, ~$199) — that should be hitting stores shelves any day. Interestingly, it sounds like ARCHOS will be ramping up the tablets’ specs as their manufacturing partner, Rockchip, makes them available. It also appears that Rockchip is responsible for the devices’ firmware.
