Motorola XOOM Gets Priced: $599.99 on Verizon with 2-year Contract

As hard as the blogosphere tried to give Motorola a hard time for pricing the 4G LTE Motorola XOOM at $799 (unsubsidized), we now know officially that the Android Honeycomb, dual-core Tegra 2 toting Motorola XOOM will be available through Verizion for $599.99 with a 2-year contract starting February 24th. A quick check of how much Verizon is offering the first generation, entry-level iPad with MiFi turns up a price tag of $629.99. Which would you rather have? That still begs the question: Will Apple’s Second Generation iPad Match or Exceed Motorola’s XOOM Price Tag?

Aside: Everyone will also be able to pick up a Wi-Fi-only Motorola XOOM without a mobile data plan for $600. No doubt this entry-level model will be $100-150 cheaper by the 2011 holiday season.

Still too much , to battle Apples lead in apps/image and it needs to come in a good $150 cheaper especially with the Ipad2 launch imminent.
