People these days talk about cutting cable from their entertainment equation. How about cutting cable from your broadband service? Clearwire has just added a new WiMax-based wireless router that brings 4G speeds to your network connected devices and computers. The $120 Clear Modem offers 802.11n Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Just plug the device into an available power outlet, configure your security settings, and you’re good to go. The router even includes a 5 LED signal strength indicator so you don’t have to guess where to best place the router. Monthly service plans start at $35/mo, capped at 1.5Mbps ($45/mo uncapped). You can also add CLEAR Voice support for an additional $15 or opt to sign-up for home and on-the-go connectivity for as little as $60/mo. Drawback: you have to live in an area that Clearwire covers — see: Coverage Map.
