Kmart to Sell Augen’s 7-inch Android Tablet for Around $150

Looks like the $199 ARCHOS 7 Home Tablet has some new competition. Kmart has posted a “weekly circular” that lists a 7-inch Android tablet produced by a small, Florida-based company named Augen for $149.99 ($20 off the MSRP). The GENTOUCH78 features Android 2.1 (with Android Market), an 800×480 TFT touchscreen, 800Mhz processor, 2 GB of RAM, SD/MMC card slot, Wi-Fi, support for e-Books (PDF, E-PUB, HTML), and can handle music and video files for playback up to 720p. Really, it’s not a bad deal — and it’s something you wouldn’t mind tossing to kids or taking on road-trips.
