Clicker Unveils Clicker.tv for Television Browsing

Clicker.com today intoduced a new version of their “TV Guide for the Web” offering for large-screen televisions and computer displays. What’s innovative here is that Clicker.tv (note the .tv) is an HTML5 web application that requires no software to download and can be controlled using your PC remote or your keyboard’s directional arrow keys. Clicker.tv is intended for use with HTPCs and the next-generation of laptops that can wirelessly display their screens to an HDTV. Look-wise, Clicker.tv reminds me a bit of Hulu Desktop (in a good way). However, Clicker.tv has some neat tricks up its sleeve. Clicker.tv not only brings you an intelligently cataloged collection of web video available online from various third-party websites, but it also ties into Amazon VOD and iTunes to bring you premium content like feature films. Give it a spin — it’s not bad.
