The JooJoo Is a Go Go

Today Fusion Garage is announcing that their Intel Atom N270 / NVIDIA ION powered JooJoo Internet Tablet has begun shipping to pre-order customers and that it can be purchased for $499 through the company’s online store. As their press release states, the devices boasts the largest capacitive touchscreen on the market at 12.1 inches, it offers a front-facing webcam, is Java compliant, supports Flash 10.1 content, and can play 1080p video — all of which is not offered or possible on the iPad, which begins shipping April 3rd. I’m betting this device won’t be a breakout hit, but if Fusion Garage is able to sell enough of these cutting-edge devices to make a profit, I’d consider that a success for a privately funded startup that was first to market and has had most of its cards stacked against it (some by it’s own doing – lawsuit, rebuttal).
