For the person who owns both an iPod Touch and an iPhone, Tango (FB page) may be an app you’ll be interested in. Tango enables one to control an iPhone/iPod Touch’s music collection with another iPhone/iPod Touch over Wi-Fi. Tango, from just about any room in the house, can show you what’s playing, adjust the volume, play/pause, skip tracks (forward and backward with a shake of the control device in hand), select playlists, shuffle songs, and even create new playlists without iTunes. Not bad for 99-cents (introductory price). Plus, you’ve got to like the fact that Tango is putting your extra iPhone/iPod Touch to work in a useful way.

Tango, a New Remote Control App for iPod Touch/iPhone, is Now Available on the App Store

Tango is an iPod Touch/iPhone application just released on the App Store today. Tango can remotely control another iPod Touch/iPhone to manage the music playing on the remote device. Tango works on all versions of the iPod Touch and iPhone.

Brewster, MA January 20, 2010 — Tango is a remote control application designed to manage the music on a remote iPhone or iPod Touch. Need to see what song is currently playing? Need to control the volume anywhere in the home? Tango can do that and much more without having to leave the couch!

Tango is an advanced music player for the iPod Touch/iPhone with a unique feature – remote control. All it takes is another iPod Touch or iPhone and a wi-fi network. Tango manages all the existing iTunes music, podcasts, audio books, etc. available on the iPod Touch or iPhone.
Tango can control the volume, play/pause, skip forward and backward, select which playlists to play, shuffle songs, and more. Tango was designed to be fast and easy to use. For example to skip forward just shake once or to skip backwards shake twice.

Tango also has a feature called On-The-Tango playlist. The On-The-Tango playlist can be created from any of the music on your iPod Touch or iPhone. Running iTunes to create a new playlist is no longer necessary. It all can be done remotely while the music continues to play.

Tango is available on the App Store for $.99 for a limited time only.

Tango was developed by Blue Atlas Technology, LLC. Other Blue Atlas Technology, LLC products on the App Store include Blue Atlas Broker and Jersey Shore Nickname Generator.

Thanks for letting everyone know about Tango. We just released a free Lite version. The Lite Version does most everything the full version does except you can't select playlists or songs to play, or create a playlist. Here's the link http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tango-lite-remot…

We also have an upgrade in the works that displays the album artwork, offers better performance for large playlists and some minor bug fixes.

You might also want to check out http://www.tunesremote.com. This App does about the same, has a few extra features and does not require you to have two iPods / iPhones as it can be remote controlled from a desktop.
