Blump’it Web Browser Extension Adds a Tablet Touch UI to Any OS

I’m a little blown away here. Our friend Charbax at Techvideoblog.com has posted a video with Blump’it project leader, Oliver, showcasing the startup’s free Firefox extension (and soon Google Chrome). As you’ll see, Blump’it provides a custom touch interface which piggybacks on the browser — doesn’t matter if it’s running on Windows, Mac, or Linux — and provides a homescreen with icon based shortcuts lined up in a grid and spread over four draggable workspaces (kind of similar to Android). There’s even a fairly decent looking virtual keyboard and plugin catalog available through the service. And if that didn’t get you excited enough… Oliver says that the company plans on selling the tablet (demonstrated here) via their website as well.
