Sneak Peek: Roku XR Player

Engadget has received a few snapshots from an anonymous source showing the second generation device from various angles. The source states the Roku XR will sport built-in 802.11n connectivity and a USB port. Unfortunately, no hard upgrade specification details are available, but it would be nice to see the addition of Gigabit Ethernet, DLNA / UPnP support, and full 1080p video out (current model only does 720p). But, hey… I guess we’ll have to wait and see what turns up in the next couple months.

Aside: Did Roku drop all their other products (i.e. Roku SoundBridge Network Music Player / Radio)? Their homepage only has info on the Roku Player presently.

    I think one can make a reasonable assumption as to what product the company is focusing on ;)

    Good eye. I missed the SoundBridge link in the footer. However, I did go the company’s original domain, rokulabs.com, to see if the other products were available, but it redirected to roku.com.

    I found it via Google and noticed in the address bar the url for Soundbridge is http://soundbridge.roku.com/soundbridge/index.php
