Rhapsody Coming to iPhone / iPod Touch (Maybe)

Real Networks is getting set to submit their iPhone app for approval so users can tap into their $14.99/mo Rhapsody To Go unlimited music service on the device via Wi-Fi, 3G, or EDGE. Obviously, Rhapsody is a direct competitor to the iTunes empire so it will be interesting to see how Apple reacts — especially since they’ve been getting grief recently for their walled garden stance to Google Voice. However, if Rhapsody To Go does get approved, your iPhone / iPod Touch sound dock equipped speakers and audio products should get significantly more use being that Rhapsody has an 8 million song library.

FYI, Real Networks already has an Android app in the works and is planning on developing for other platforms and working with mobile phone carriers to support their service. [via]
