SageTV Adds Blu-ray Movie Playback to Its HD Media Extender

This will pique the interest of a few of you. SageTV has announced as part of their 6.5.11 Beta release that the company’s HD Theater (HD200) will now be able to play Blu-ray movies that are stored on a PC in the BDMV folder structure (you’ll need an app like AnyDVD HD to accomplish this). As on might expect, there is no support for interactive features that call homebase for added goodies, but users will be able to select multiple audio tracks and scan through chapters. In the near future, the company plans on adding subtitle and “standalone mode” support (which I take to mean that the Extender will be able to read files from a BDMV folder located on a NAS server without the aid of a SageTV powered PC).
