Netflix Asks: Would You Spend $9.99 Extra a Month for HBO ‘Watch Instantly’ Access?

netflix hbo survey

Hacking Netflix has posted a screenshot of a survey Netflix is displaying to members inquiring what their interest level would be on paying $9.99 extra a month to be able to instantly view HBO content on their PC or Netflix streaming capable device like the Netflix Player by Roku, Xbox 360, TiVo, etc. The premium service, Netflix states, will include both original HBO TV series content, as well as movies that HBO has had a hand in. What do you folks think? Should they begin offering à la carte premium service offerings or (my idea) just charge an all inclusive additional account fee for premium content from any and all providers they sign on?

Below are the titles provided in the survey to whet people’s appetites.

I’m guessing Netflix figures soon everyone will be getting access to their favorite TV programs on-demand from the likes of Hulu and others via Netflix streaming compatible devices attached to a TV. Netflix is seeing an opportunity to bring not only movies to your home through the mail and over the Internet, but also premium TV content you would normally have to pay a cable/satellite provider for. If their plan works, you might start seeing people dump their cable/satellite service completely (but I believe people who end up doing this will be a minority for quite some time).
