Windows 7 Media Center Touch Interface Preview

Gizmodo a while back originally posted the first video I’ve seen of the new Windows 7 Media Center Touch Interface. Unfortunately, for many, Microsoft asked Gizmodo to pull the (I guess) private presentation video, which can now be found on YouTube. Thankfully, Microsoft has had a change of heart and showcased the new interface at CES for all to see. Attached is the video recorded by Engadget. You’ll notice the program guide has been overhauled from what you’ve seen in Vista and has been optimized so users can run through listings a great speeds. There’s also word that multi-touch functionality will be coming down the pike. Obviously the intended use is for counter-top PCs, but it makes me wonder if some kind of Web Tablet is in the works that will let you remotely access the PC’s touch interface from your sofa?

Maybe someone will get into the business of making finger covers for touch screen friendliness...hmmm.

I don't get it? Why would someone want to put their greasy fingers all over a nice flat screen? Touch functionality in MC is worthless.
