Video: Netgear EVA9000 Digital Entertainer Elite Preview Demo
Last week the news leaked out about Netgear’s EVA9000 Digital Entertainer Elite, which officially was supposed to be announced at CES 2009. In general, the tech community came away pretty impressed by what was coming down pike from the company spec wise — see our previous post for more details. Attached here is a video preview of the device recorded by the guys at GigaOm/NewTeeVee with some commentary from Netgear’s Senior of Product Marketing, David Henry. While the video is short, you will get to see the EVA9000 pumping out 720p YouTube HD video with ease. No word on other content partners at this time, but I’m guessing with its massive 500GB hard drive Netgear has some plans for the device. My gut tells me they’ll be rolling out firmware updates with new features to the EVA9000 like the Blu-ray players that support Netflix streaming we’ve seen of late.
