LaCie Internet Space NAS Server

Back in August LaCie unveiled the LaCie Network Space NAS Server to the U.S. and European market, providing a stylish, small form factor DLNA/UPnP compatible NAS server to home users. Now, the company has taken that product up a notch and has added remote access and permission-based media sharing capabilities to users from anywhere on the Net. The LaCie Internet Space comes in 500GB or 1TB configurations, offers a desktop mirroring software package called HipServ for PC/Mac, and provides easy system backups by just connecting an external drive (of the same capacity of greater) to its rear USB 2.0 port. Unfortunately, it’s initially launching in Europe at a price point 134.99€, but my guess it will be hitting the U.S. shores in the near future.

Wow, "stylish" is certainly in the eyes of the beholder. They hired an actual designer to design this look? Looks more "blah" to me than anything else. I'm looking for function over fashion with my electronic products. Hiring expensive designers/stylists to butcher up a product just doesn't seem to make much sense.

Hi Scott, the designer's name is Neil Poulton, who's been doing the design of most of LaCie's products for a few years. Sounds like you don t know much about LaCie's products in general. Maybe you should get some information on them before pointing out potential weaknesses you don't know even exist...
