Brian Burch, director of marketing for HP’s connected entertainment division, showcases for us the brain of the SmartHome and provides a quick walkthrough of the company’s MediaSmart Server based on Windows Home Server. He also chats about some of the custom add-ins created and bundled exclusively by HP in the MediaSmart Server.

    You mention in the video that the noise isn’t the MediaSmart server – I’ve had two of these now, and both are too noisy to have anywhere that’s not a wiring closet. The noise level would be okay for a PC that is on only when you are using it, but for something supposed to be on all the time, but for a Windows Home Server, way too noisy.
