Sneak Peek: ASUS Eee B202 Desktop PC

It was revealed back in January that ASUS was going to expand its budget Eee PC line – made famous by ASUS Eee PC compact notebook – to include a desktop model. Luckily for us, Gizmodo got their hands on a pre-production version, called the Eee Box B202 [gallery], that will be available in the U.S. by mid-July. The B202 will be offered with either Linux or Windows XP pre-installed and start at $269 and $299 respectively. Overall, the small form factor package looks very attractive in both design and price point. And the fact that it’s running a power-sipping 1.6Ghz Intel Atom processor, and includes wireless 802.11n connectivity standard, makes the B202 all the more compelling. Some are already considering transforming the B202 into the ultimate media/tv streamer or NAS device when it comes out.

People - don’t fret over the lack of HDMI. All you need is an DVI to HDMI cable… I use it on my HD Set and it is beautiful. In truth there is not much that separates the two.
