Tranquil PC Refreshes Windows Home Server Line with Intel Atom Processors

Tranquil PC Intel Atom Harmony Home Servers

Seems like green tech, along with any power saving technology, is all the rage today. As such, Tranquil PC has updated their Windows Home Server line to include the power-sipping Intel 45nm Atom processor that you’ll soon be seeing in laptops everywhere. According to the Tranquil PC Blog (via WGS), T7-HSAi and the T2-WHS-A3i will sport the Intel Atom 230 (64bit ready +HT) processor, a fanless design (acoustics: 21dBA), “green power” Western Digital hard drive(s), 29W base unit power consumption, 512MB or 1GB of RAM, and other goodies in its small form factor enclosure. It’s also worth pointing out that the T7-HSAi can optionally be configured with two drives, for added storage capabilities, and both models can be upgraded to include a SageTV server license (£39.99) so users can stream content to SageTV HD Media Extenders. Expect to see the servers for sale in June, starting at £278+VAT.
