I have a Vista Media Center will allow me to work my Directv or do I have switch back to cable to get the results I need from this card??

I wouldn’t get the card or switch back just yet. If you use Media Center I’d consider waiting for of DTV’s release of the HDPC-20 tuner which will interface directly with MediaCenter without the need for a card via usb and deliver HDTV to Media Cener of your DTV programming.
