If you’ve felt like your ISP has been throttling your BitTorrent downloads, ImageShack’s new torrent download service is here to help. According to TorrentFreak, who has been testing out the free Beta service, says all one needs to do is point ImageShack’s servers to the remote torrent file URL you wish to download and the service takes care of the rest on their speedy network. Once the download has completed, users can download the completed file via http on to their computer. Currently, the service limits users to 15GB worth of downloads a month. However, I’m guessing that might change in the future, especially if they begin offering a premium version.

Doesn’t this go against the whole purpose of using BitTorrents? The whole purpose is to speed up downloads by getting pieces of the file(s) from different users and putting it all back together. This service just gives you a single point of download. Also it is centralizing something that moved away from a centralized service that can be attached.
