Push Windows Media Center Home Viewing Activity to Your Buddies on Facebook

Facebook Media Center Status UpdateYou’re either gonna love or hate this Media Center add-in depending on your stance on privacy. A developer by the name of Jussi Palo thought it would be a good idea to update his Facebook user status passively every time he watched or listened to anything new in Media Center (via Ian Dixon). He states: “So, if you’re watching a program called ‘News’ on Media Center, soon your Facebook status will say ‘…is watching News’. In the same way the DVD, Recorded TV and Video title is shown. If you’re watching pictures status will just be ‘…is watching pictures’. When listening to music status will be ‘…is listening to ARTIST – TITLE’.” Cool or creepy, you be the judge.

Note: The Facebook add-in is not compatible with Media Center Extenders (kind of a bummer) and requires Vista Home Premium or Ultimate to operate.
