OK, everyone take a deep breath. According to Stuff.co.nz (via Kotaku), Sony’s New Zealand marketing head, Warwick Light, has confirmed that Sony is preparing to ship a digital TV tuner adapter for the PlayStation 3 around the same time the Freeview terrestrial broadcasting service rolls out (ETA March 2008). No word on the type of programming guide it will leverage, approximate price, or if the adapter will available with dual tuner option. But for our sake here in the states, I hope the U.S. version (if it ever comes out) is compatible with standard cable offerings.
