TVease Set to Launch Samsung Q1 Ubuntu-Based UMPC

ubuntu samsung umpcWe’ve recently reported on the news that Ubuntu was in the process of porting a streamline version of their OS for use on Intel’s energy efficient, mobile internt device (MID) platform. But now, a company by the name of TVease, has decided to leapfrog those efforts and port the full desktop version of Ubuntu on a Samsung Q1 Ultra Mobile PC (Why not the latest Q1U?), complete with a MythTV front-end for streaming video, GIMP photo editor, OpenOffice, and more. A full release of specs, capabilities, and pricing should be available when the product goes public later this week or month. In the meantime, the head admin in the TVease Forums has posted some details (via digg) to whet your appetite. Image credit: jkOnTheRun (Not the official TVease Samsung Q1)
