big screen photos 2 geo-target

Prepare to be impressed. Nial Ginsbough has put together a video demo of his upcoming Big Screen Photos 2 Vista MCE add-on (via Ian Dixon). My two favorite additions so far are the maximized photo screen thumbnail selection bar (towards the end of the video) and the ability to navigate a map of the world to see geo-targeted photos taken in different regions of the world. All-in-all, Big Screen Photos 2 is very slick and will no doubt be must have add-on when released to the public. FYI, Nial makes full use of Microsoft’s Media Center Markup Language (MCML) to make Big Screen Photos 2 integrate seamlessly into Vista’s MCE user-interface.

eyejot family communicationI’m sure many of you have a webcam and wished there was an easy way to send and receive video messages from friends and family. A new service called Eyejot does just that. Using a browser-based solution, Eyejot allows members to record video messages, respond to others, and even embed a video player for use on a website. Below is a video demo created by Eyejot showcasing the service. I particularly like how the service makes it easy for the not-so-tech-inclined to communicate with others (seems very intuitive).
