Vongo Movies Now Streamable to the Xbox 360

vongo vista mce interfaceApparently this little gem slipped under the radar during CES last month. According to Starz Entertainment’s press release (via DMT), Vongo’s $9.99/mo. unlimited movie/TV download subscription service is now fully supported on Vista Media Center with its own custom 10-foot interface and has given the Xbox 360 the ability to “automatically check to see which Windows XP or Vista-based devices are registered on the network and ask the user whether they want to access content [...] from that PC.” Representatives at Starz claim they’ve added “the last important piece for consumers: to have a truly integrated digital entertainment experience,” but I think they need to create some kind of channel on the Xbox 360 that allows users to stream/download content to the device directly without the need for a PC. If it can be done in the Xbox Live Marketplace, why not here?

About Vongo
Vongo subscribers have unlimited access to more than 1,000 movies and 2,500 total video selections as well as a live, streaming Starz TV channel for a monthly cost of $9.99. Select popular pay-per-view titles are also available for individual rental. In addition to Windows-based PCs, laptops and portable devices, Vongo subscribers can also transfer their Vongo content onto a TV for optimal viewing. Vongo was launched at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show and was nominated for two Emmy® Awards this past year. Vongo is currently offering a 14-day free trial and is available as a free download for broadband subscribers in the United States at www.vongo.com.
