Inteset Intros a Real MCE Touchsceen Interface in Its Julia All-in-One Touch Extender

As Julie Jacobson puts it at Talk About CEDIA, “There’s a reason you don’t see many touchscreen-enabled Media Center Edition (MCE) computers out there. As is, the TV-oriented interface simply won’t work on a touchscreen. It’s meant for a cursor and a keyboard.” Being the case, Inteset has taken it upon themselves to remedy the situation by introducing a UI enhancement that pops up a virtual, semi-transparent keyboard or remote when accessing certain areas of the MCE interface that require user data input or deeper navigation.

Unfortunately, this “enhancement” is not available to everyone as a plug-in, but can only be found on the company’s new Julia All-in-One Touch Extender MCE PC. The Julia features a 17-inch widescreen touchscreen, CD/DVD drive, FM/TV tuners, 80GB hard drive, and is designed to access content stored from Inteset servers, including HD content and DVD movies via Inteset’s Movies module. Julia can also control the multizone music capabilities of Inteset’s Denzel server via the company’s MCE Multizone Music interface.
