Think music labels can’t sell their content online without DRM? Think again. I was fortunate enough to speak with Magnatune’s CEO & Founder, John Buckman, to get the inside scoop on his “we are not evil,” DRM-free Internet music company. To say the least, Buckman’s philosophy and approach to business – signing artists, distributing music, and offering consumers choice – is one that should be taken seriously and will, in most likelihood, be copied by the major labels once they realize that consumers aren’t crooks and they prefer freedom over restraints of their purchased goods.
