Watch YouTube Videos via Windows Media Center with YouTubeMCE

youtubemce screenshotThe title pretty much says it all. From the screenshots available at The Green Button, the MCE plug-in looks well laid out and straight-forward (via Chris Lanier). Users can search YouTube videos, sort, and browse personal favorites. YouTubeMCE also kindly provides video thumbnails for selections and even offers two choices for watching videos: YouTube’s default player (embedded) or Fullscreen. Unbelievably, YouTubeMCE is available gratis, so be sure to drop some change in the developers PayPal donation box.

This is very cool! I love seeing this kind of grassroots dev work.

Hmmm, the idea is nice, but it doesn’t fit very well on my 16:9 720p screen… If they’d improve that (and have capabilities to use my existing YouTube profile for all my favs etc) I’d donate…

Take a look at TVedia. The newly released Media Center PC software can search and stream online video from YouTube, Google Video, Metacafe and Grouper. For YouTube, you can search a person’s favorites.
