Calvary CAPP06 PMP Features Built-in Speakers, Removable Storage for a Very Low Price

calvary capp06 pmpHave you drooled over the prospect of getting the Creative Zen Vision:M or the iPod with Video, but you can’t afford the entry price of $300 for either unit? Well, if you’re willing to trade-out space for future storage potential, the Cavalry CAPP06 PMP may be a great trade-off device for getting your mobile video and audio needs met (via Portable Video Player News). Granted, the CAPP06 screams “I eat burgers on sandwhich bread” cheap, but at an entry price of only $120, you can purchase almost 3 of these bad boys for the same coin it would cost you to get into one of the Apple beauties. Just tell your friends your blind Uncle Frankie bought it for you.

That said, you can’t discard what the CAPP06 has to offer. There may only be 512MB of internal memory, but you have the ability to expand it with SD cards up to 4GB in capacity. With the price of SD cards dropping daily, you’ll have a 4GB player for less than $250 and maybe even less. Plus, you’ll be able to expand that storage anytime you want. The 2.5″ TFT screen is decent, if not mind-boggling. The built-in speakers may look like dog ears, but they can be folded back into the unit. Nicely, the CAPP06 also works like a PVP, letting you plug in an external video device to record to MPEG4 format at 640×480 resolution and 30 fps. Throw in a built-in prop stand, FM radio support and a built-in microphone and the value in the device becomes more apparent. Granted, with support for only MPEG2/4, WAV, MP3, and WMA (without DRM), you’re not sitting on the most compatible player around, but you’re also saving quite a few pennies too.
