Thecus RouStor N5200 5-Bay Network Attached Storage Server
Let the buzz begin! If you’ve had a deep burning hole for an NAS box that could scratch your storage itch in just the right way, the Thecus RouStor N5200 may be the one you’ve been looking for. Seriously, it might the one I’ve been looking for, too, if I could only find the expected MSRP. But pricing aside, here’s what you get in a nutshell: 5 x 3.5-inch hot swap bays (for up to 3.75TB of storage at current 750GB hard drive capacities!), RAID 0/1/5/6/10, eSATA port for expandability, data backups to a remote server via “Nsync,” Web-based multilingual interface, compatiblity with Windows/Mac OS X/Linux, 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, support for attaching a USB 802.11b/g dongle for Wi-Fi capability, and a robust Intel Celeron M processor. However, my favorite superficial features are its black enclosure, slick hot-swap bay setup, LED hard drive status lights, and its geeky front panel display.
