AircordAV Wireless Transmits 1080p HD Over 802.11g Wi-Fi

aircordav wirelessg hdtvThe HD revolution is definitely amongst us brethren. For today, we see the promise of HD 1080p resolution video streaming wirelessly from our video sources to our televisions, and all is well in the world (via Engadget). It’s not that AircordAV is the first to offer HD streaming, it just appears to be one of the simplest to set up solutions in a while. Not only that, but it looks like it would sit very comfortably next to an Apple iPod without blushing.

The AircordAV features a base unit that can connect to any home theater component via HDMI, DVI, component, S-video, composite and event SCART for our friends overseas. It then creates it’s own little 802.11g network to transmit that signal to up to 8 clients. So, if you have 9 HDTVs, you’re gonna have to go without on one of those. Apparently, the proprietary encoding and decoding algorithm makes this wireless solution viable. We’ll soon find out as the AircordAV is set to release sometime in December for about $500.
