So, I’ve got a deal for you. You first option is a full living room suite, including couch, recliner, end tables, coffee table and even a nice 42″ HD television. The second option is a media manager. Both will cost you right at $6000. For me, in order to stay married and/or alive, the first option is the only option. However, if you’re questioning my manhood now, or you have the money to spend on both, then take a look at the media beast known as the Escient Fireball DVDM 552 Media Manager (via The Red Ferret Journal).

This monstrosity features 500GB of storage for your massive library of media. It also supports up to 2000 DVDs and CDs when coupled with a compatible 400-disc DVD/CD Changer. It spices up the interface by automatically looking up DVD titles and covers so that you can avoid entering the information manually for the next 10 years. With DNLA and UPnP support, most connected devices will be able to access the Fireball and its media. You can even control the DVDM 552 from any web connected PDA. Coupled with the MP-200 Digital Media Player ($900), you can play a different movie in two different rooms at the same time (as long as you have 2 distinct DVD/CD changers connected).

For $6000, one would think that TV Tuners would be a given. Nope, not here. I guess watching 2000 movies would take up all of your time anyhow. If you’re looking to impress your friends by your ability to fling money aimlessly into the wind, then take a look at the Fireball DVDM 552, because it is just as good a way as any.
