Latest Apple Rumors Include Full-Length Movie Downloads
It’s fun to speculate. In fact, many people do a good job of making a living off of doing so. In the land of speculation, no subject is more talked about or dreamt about than good ole’ Apple. The latest speculation, from Analysts at American Technology Research and reported at AppleInsider, takes a shot at predicting what the February 28th announcement from Apple will be about. The idea of a true video iPod has been bouncing around for a while, and though the analysts believe it’s being worked on, analyst Shaw Wu believes it is still a ways out. So, what will Apple deliver?
Well, given the recent transition to Intel processors, Wu believes that we’ll see an Intel-based Mac mini and a new Intel-based, widescreen consumer notebook, likely called MacBook. Both of these are predicted to come with Front Row software and the remote control previously seen with iMacs. Intel compatible updates to popular Pro software apps like Aperture, Final Cut Pro and Motion are also rumored. The most interesting in the bunch, though, is the notion that Apple will have full length feature films available for download from the iTunes store. With battery life on the new iPod peaking around 2 hours for continuous video, does it make sense to release full-length movies that would all but kill the iPod’s battery for one viewing? I guess we’ll have to wait for the 28th for the final answer; and remember, Jobs has been known to surprise people during these events, so don’t be surprised if he drops yet another bombshell.
