P2POD IP Media Streamer

p2podIn this is cool, but I don’t know how this is really going to work category, is a new peer-to-peer (P2P) media streaming box called the P2POD that promises to deliver both free and premium A/V content in up to 1920×1080 HDTV. To do this, P2POD leverages a third-party application called MyMo Media to supply its content database with the freshest programming from its 1,000+ channels online (MyMo runs at $10/mo). Other notable features include Windows Media-based DRM support, HDMI & S/PDIF connections, USB 2.0 port for accessing content from an external hard drive, and its magical ability to do all this without the need of an internal hard drive (Hmmm). Availability: I4U says that the P2POD will be available in Q3 of 2006 and will be priced around $150.
