Hack into Your Xbox 360’s File System with Xplorer360

xplorer360 screenshotNot exactly sure why I find so much pleasure in seeing “closed-systems” getting hacked, but if you find yourself in the same boat, you’ll be happy to know that you can now hack into the Xbox 360’s hard drive and memory file systems with full read/write access (via Xbox-Scene News, Gizmodo). On top of that, the developers of Xplorer360, Roofus and AngerWound of 360GameSaves.com, have also designed their hack to access their site’s “gamesaves” database to swap stored video games online with other Xbox gamers (very trick).

The only part that looks difficult in setting this scheme up is having to create your own PC to Xbox cable adapter. You can find instructions on how to do this here and here, or you can wait for one of those game console modder sites to create their own “aftermarket” accessory.

Xplorer360 Highlights:

  • FULL Read/Write to 360 HDDs.
  • FULL Read/Write to 360 Memory Units.
  • Physical and Logical drive access.
  • Support for opening of dumps of both devices.
  • Backup/Restore dump options.
