Thoughts on Apple’s Rumored Media Center PC
I just had strange thought. What if Apple’s rumored upcoming media center product is not a PC at all, but a new type of wired/wireless streaming media dock that interfaces with an iPod and a Mac server? By creating such a device, the company would have a product that’s easily portable to every room, allows users to share iPod downloaded content with other dock users without typical DRM restrictions, and if designed correctly, might actually provide a way to create a remote Mac desktop so users can access Front Row on a TV along with the PC’s stored media content (not to mention it would be a fairly inexpensive solution for whole-home entertainment).
