Nethrone Computer Workstation

ema innovation nethroneNow this is my kind of setup! A company called EMA Innovation has obviously studied the inner workings of the the future computer workstation featured in various sci-fi movies and has come up with the Nethrone Computer Workstation (via Gizmodo). The Nethrone’s primary objective is to ergonomically place users in an optimal sitting position to relieve back pain associated with long hours of computer or gaming related activities.

EMA Innovations says, “The Nethrone is a uniquely engineered environment designed for gaming, net surfing and computer using. The oval shaped structure, electric adjustment control and seat massage enable users to enjoy various comfortable seating positions. The perfect balance between design and technology makes it the cutting edge of the digital entertainment center.”

If you want to see it in action, EMA has provided a Flash demo (click on “Features”) showing off Nethrone’s various adjustments: display, keyboard, seat, back rest, head rest, display tilt. So you’re probably wondering how much this bad boy is going to cost you? Well, according to Uncrate, the Nethrone will retail for about $2,500 (available Jan. 30, 2006) and will be on display at CES 2006 for visitors to drool over.

Does anyone have links to a DIY version of something like this? Of course, not as elaborate….
