I was looking at Archos, but before I vote I am going to read more about the ones on your list.

It has be the Video iPod for sales. I was in Best Buy and my brother bought one for one of his kids. The only thing they had left that day was the 60gig model. They were selling like hot cakes….and this is in West virginia for goodness sake.

Personally, I have a thing about Apple and will never buy one of their products. I think it’s because my cousin had an early MAC, and he was just so snooty about how “smart people” used them. Personally I thought my Amiga ran circles around it. Those were the days.

Too bad the Creative Zen Vision:M (review) wasn’t launched in the U.S. earlier this year, it probably would have been in the top 3 IMHO.

In terms of sales, it’ll be the iPod, easily over all other combined I’m sure…

The Archos av500 is freakin great though; almost perfect. Anyone buying an ipod over it has no idea what they are talking about. The on draw back being that you need the support stand to record video to it…. bummer.. no on the road record..

Even though I have the iPod (and agree it will be tops in sales) – I absolutely COVET the new Zen Vision:M. It seems like Creative really hit it out of the park with this one.

I think the video iPod and Vision:M are in different catagories than the Archos and Cowon products. The iPod and Vision:M are digitial audio players that can also play videos. The AV500/700 and Cowon A2 have line in recording directly from TV, much larger screen and greater codec support. They are really portable PVRs that can also play music. As such, I think they are going to have different (but overlapping) user bases and be used in quite different ways.
