Gefen Extends High Definition Video with RS-232 Touch Screen Control over CAT-5 Cable

Economical, industry-standard category-5 cable is used to extend high definition digital video up to 150 feet together with RS-232 signals for local touch screen control of the remote display with Gefen’s new DVI RS-232 Extender.
The plug and play system uses a sender and receiver methodology fed by a 5-volt power supply to transmit DVI and RS-232 signals over two category-5 cables to the remote location.
High definition video is sustained in resolutions up to 1080p or 1920×1200 for computers, resulting in crystal clear imagery.
Another new companion product, the VGA RS-232 Extender offers the same functionality for those requiring the extension and control of monitors using VGA connectors.
