Nokia N80 UPnP Enabled Phone Reviewed

nokia n80 aas photoThe Symbian lovers over at All About Symbian have found a new love and she is known simply as the Nokia N80, jealous flings be damned (via Engadget). Normally, we don’t cover phones at eHomeUpgrade, but this UPnP enabled powerhouse demands an exception be made, and we happily oblige. The N80 is, quite simply, the mother of all multimedia phones. The latest from Nokia supports the S60 Symbian OS and virtually every cellular standard ever invented, including quad-band GSM, 3G and EDGE. But that is certainly not all.

Where the N80 stands out is its 802.11g and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and as stated earlier its UPnP functionality, a technology that allows the streaming of media content to and from the N80 to any compatible PC or home theater device. Hoozah! Remember too, that Skype is soon to be ported to the Symbian OS. It is not unreasonable to assume that the N80 might be one of the first devices to feature Symbian Skype. Top it off with a gorgeous 352×418 screen, support for miniSD cards and a whopping 3 Megapixel built-in camera and you have the phone to beat all other phones – well, at least until the next model is released. Expect to see the N80 sometime in first or second quarter 2006.
