Denon Releases AVR-4306 Internet and iPod Friendly A/V Receiver
This is THE receiver the connected home has been waiting for. Behold the AVR-4360 from Denon, your new best friend and mine (via Pocket-lint). Denon has covered almost every base imagineable with this new receiver. This 7.1 receiver (130 watts per channel) features Auto setup and Room EQ with Audyssey MultEQ for up to 6 listening postitions. Oh, and if you want connections, they’ve got connections and in spades.
The 4306 features a built-in Ethernet port for streaming content from any of the over 2300 Internet Radio stations or through Windows Media Connect. That same connection allows for setup through a Web-based interface from any PC on your network. If you have a 3G or later iPod, the unit has dedicated iPod connectors on the front and back of the unit. This connector can display the pictures stored on your iPod as well as play the music. Front and Rear USB ports ensure that those of you with other media players are feeling the Denon love as well. Impressively, the Denon features 1080p (that’s right, fully progressive) output through it’s HDMI output, which also handles video upscaling. For you port junkies, you will want to check out Denon’s site, but here are some quickies: 3 HDMI inputs, 7 Video/S-Video inputs, 5 digital optical inputs, 10 analog audio inputs, 3 Component Video inputs and on and on and on.
Oh, and if you’re wondering about codec support, no worries mate. It has them all (and some you didn’t know existed). Dolby Digital? Check. Dolby Digital EX? Check. DTS? You’re covered. Others include Pro Logic II, Pro Logic IIx, HDCD-Decoder, DTS 96/24 and DTS-ES Discrete/Matrix 6.1. Be prepared to shell out some major dough, as units like this aren’t made for the faint-of-heart or the weak-in-wallet. Expect to shell out somewhere around $2000.
