Wafian HR-1 HDSDI Recorder
Wow. If you thought the recently reviewed VooDoo PC Aria Luxury Media Center PC was expensive, you simply won’t believe what Wafian has come up with (via Macworld). The HR-1 HDSDI Record is certainly not intended for home use, but the $15,000 (no, that is not a typo) unit certainly does impress. Available in January, the rack-mountable unit – designed for on-set and on-location film and video production – boasts support for up to 18 hours of 1080p HD format video
Additionally, the built-in touch screen allows you to do your video editing and conversion right on the unit. The RAID-1 configuration gives you the necessary data-redundancy you’d want when working on large, HD quality videos. Once you’ve done your recording and reviewing, you can output using the built-in Gigabit Ethernet, USB2.0 or Firewire ports.
