Microsoft Demos Experimental Netflix Application

microsoft netflix experimental demo

In the spirit of being a click away from your content, Microsoft’s Media Center Team pulled together, in coordination with Rezn8 design studios, a new multi-platform Netflix application for Jim Allchin’s PDC keynote. The slick Netflix app works on a Desktop PC, Tablet PC, Media Center PC, or Windows Mobile device. Matt Goyer says, “if you look closely each device rendered the application differently. For instance the desktop and tablet versions had a tan background with and showed two to three rows of content depending on screen resolution and orientation, while the Media Center version showed one row of content, had a background and colors optimized for display on a TV and the controls were laid out differently so that they were optimized for navigation with a remote control.” Very cool!

  • So what else do you know about this?

Will this allow us to download movies from our Netflix account and watch them? Or is just a program similar to the free Netflix plug in for MCE that is available right now?

    Interested.
