Wireless USB Devices by 2006
Intel has announced that they’re ready to work with software and consumer electronics manufactures to bring Wireless USB devices to market by helping develop the Wireless Host Controller Interface (WHCI) specification. According to ZNDet, “The specification will define a standard method in which a Wireless USB device can communicate with a PC’s software, and, executives hope, could accelerate industry development of interoperable Wireless USB products.” Now if someone could just figure out how to keep these devices charged wirelessly (a major highlight of a wired USB device), then consumers would really be impressed.
