TiVo Desktop v2.2 Released

tivo desktop v2-2 screenshotInteresting facts are coming to light after TiVo Desktop v2.2 for Windows 2000/XP was released this week. Matt Haughey at PVRblog asked readers if streaming video from the PC to the TiVo is possible? Answer: YES! Originally, details of Desktop v2.2 were unclear if MPEG videos needed to be transferred in-full to a TiVo’s hard drive before playback could begin. But readers on his blog have commented that “it behaves just like an MRV [Multi-Room Video] (watching a show from a different tivo) – that is, you can play it as it is transfering.” And another surprise: “I can transfer Tivo shows to my Playstation Portable easily now that PSP Video 9 supports directly transferring. This makes tivo significantly more useful to me. Tivo should be advertising that this is possible, its pretty nice.”
